TPO 
Originally a cover band from the mid-90s, The Pocket Onions were named after the bass player pulled a hot chilli onion out of his pocket, took a bite & put it back in his pocket.
Since then all the other band members have passed away except the youngest at the time who now goes by the stage name RONION.
25 years later RONION (Ron crossed with onion) revised TPO advertising for band members & The Pocket Onions were renewed in honour of the passed original members.
With new band members Richard McClennan(BASHER),
Shaun Butcher(THUMPER) & new member Reegahn Butcher(Scrote) the whole persona of TPO has taken on a different meaning.
All our songs are originals composed by RONION & our 1st album was released 2 years ago on Bandcamp app BROKEN DREAMS.
After winning “Most Entertaining Act” last year at the FASTTRACK SHOWCASE & TSV FOLK FESTIVAL last year the band took a break to persue personal matters they’re back again for the 4th year in a row at the popular festival.
With an EP ready to record you will listen to a mix of old & new songs.
TPO is all about having fun on stage & our objective is to keep our music as raw sounding as possible.
We are so honoured that our fan base ranges from 6 year olds to ppl in their twilight years.
We try to blend our music for all ages groups with RONIONS songwriting trying to remain quirky & thought provocative around life issues.
This year with our lead guitarist Reegahn we plan to put on our best performance ever with our original songs like you’ve never heard them before.
